Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. In this role, Fisher will cover everything including NASA's recently-created Space Force to commercial space businesses and the advent space tourism. Kristin's parents were both NASA astronauts. Kristin spent her childhood in space, and she has since worked as a White House reporter for FOX News, covering Trump and Biden Administrations on space issues. In her tenure, she reported on the 2020 presidential campaign, the impeachment trial, two efforts to stop the spread of coronavirus in addition to two distinct administrations' initiatives. The reporter also was on numerous trips with president and vice president, including a top secret trip to Afghanistan with former President Donald Trump. Before becoming a part of the company in 2015, Kristin spent nearly a decade advancing in local TV news stations in Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she was awarded one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin as a skilled filmmaker, founded Field Mouse Films, a company that specializes in documentary style films, for companies such as Uber as well as Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin has a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism at Boston University. She lives in Washington, D.C., with her entire family, which includes their three-year-old daughter.
