Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins in the US as well as Mexico, is an American Mexican sportscaster. She is currently a sportscaster for ESPN who is also an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. In 2016, she was a part of ESPN. Her mother is TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is bilingual since her age of nine. Her skill was instrumental in helping her get her first job as a an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami, where she was a producer of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Her first job was as reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. In 2009 she relocated away from Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she became a news correspondent on KNVO TV 48 Univision. Covering stories related to the trafficking of drugs and immigration on both sides the Texas-Mexico Border, she worked as reporter for news on KNVO TV 48, the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5 pm. She was an anchor for the news channel on English for 9 pm, after which she became a news anchor until 10pm, before returning back to the Spanish channel. She also filled in for sports anchors and weather forecasters. Then she anchor and wrote at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She wrote on The NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason games, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. Additionally, she was host of her own local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She has been promoted to sports anchor on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The anchor also worked in the same role as the show's magazine Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born in Veracruz Mexico. At some point they relocated to Mexico City where she was born on 22 November 1985. There is an older sister. The family relocated to Miami following the move out of Mexico into the US. The couple divorced shortly after and in 1995 her mother was remarried to one of the naval architects called Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. The summer of the year 2006, Antonietta spent one week with her sibling in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl worked there. Antonietta was a senior high school student and had a very clear vision of her career goals. She went to Mount Union University in order to find out if the school was suitable for her. She loved the campus. The university also provided her with the program she was interested in. She finished school and enrolled at the university as a major in media studies. She developed a long-lasting relationship with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor for WRMU 91.1 FM, a station of which she was a member. Mark Bergmann inspired her to be self-confident and his passion for journalism deeply affected her. She in turn, strived to fulfill his expectations and never fail him.
